Finally!!! We have begun reading The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. This is one of my favorite units that we study during the year. Such themes and issues as stereotyping, domestic abuse, murder, hope, and comraderie lead to a timeless story that both boys and girls can identify with and enjoy. As we read The Outsiders, I will post questions that I would like you to respond to. Hopefully, we can get some good conversations going about the themes and events within the novel. ENJOY!

Over the past year, the teachers and students of Lincoln Jr. High have discovered some AMAZING books. Before teaching at Lincoln, I wouldn't have given much thought to picking up Young Adult Literature, but over this past year, it has become my new passion. I think that some of the most entertaining, fast-paced literature published today is by authors focusing on Young Adult Lit. Because of this, I found it VERY difficult to come up with the Top Five Books that I've ever read. My list changes regularly, but as for now, here it is. As for you reading this, post your Top Five Favorite Books, and we'll see how our lists compare : )
